We are thrilled to introduce the newest addition to the Napa Valley Vine Trail Board, Mike McClellin Captain – California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Mike took command of the Napa CHP in March of 2023, where is responsible for law enforcement within Napa County and the South Sonoma Valley on state freeways, state routes, state property, and traffic enforcement on unincorporated roadways within the county. The Napa Area command is his fourth command, proceeded by Air Operations for the entire state of California; Special Services Commander in the CHP Border Division which encompasses Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial Counties; as well as running a police and fire department as part of a contract with an allied agency.
Mike and his wife purchased their home in the upper valley in 2021 and plan to make Napa Valley their forever home upon retirement. Mike was born and raised in Napa into elementary school before moving, while having multiple generations of family continue to reside in Napa County. Returning to Napa County has been a homecoming, and Mike is happy to call the Napa Community his home again. As someone who loves to be outdoors, he is excited to be part of the Napa Valley Vine Trail Project and looks forward to personally using the new sections of the trail.
