The Napa Valley Vine Trail® serves as an important asset that increases bike and pedestrian safety, provides alternative transportation choices, shifts cars off the highway, offers free access for everyone to enjoy the out of doors.

NVVT Group Of Cyclists

The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition (NVVTC) is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Napa Valley by creating a 47-mile multi-use trail separate from cars. We have a shared vision of creating a safer place for people to connect outdoors while protecting our natural resources. 100% of your support helps us complete a legacy trail that will last for generations to come and allow both our residents and visitors to experience the Napa “good life.

For Safety Sake! I am recovering after a vehicle hit me on my bike in the bike lane on Main Street in St Helena. Bikes and pedestrians need to be separated from traffic on SR29.

We believe that every person deserves a safe place outdoors. Since opening Oak Knoll in 2014, over 3 million trail users have had free access to slow down, get outdoors, discover new areas of the Valley, and spend time with those they love.  The Vine Trail connects us to parks, neighborhoods, transit stops, schools, and local businesses. The Vine Trail is a free and accessible way to connect with your everyday life.

Experiential Education for Viticulture, Sustainability, and Napa Valley History

Education signs point out landmarks and interests; they also spread the critical message for sustainable agriculture, winemaking, and the history of the Napa Valley. Over 25 interpretive signs are placed along 22 miles of the Vine Trail. An additional 23 will be added along American Canyon, Carneros, River Sound, Oakville, Rutherford and St Helena. Audio lessons and videos amplify the messages on the website and the app.

Create a safer, more comfortable environment for trail users of all experience levels

Underwriting and naming opportunities at signature stops along the trail provide stopping points, bike repair, water, rest stops and navigation. These trail elements offer reassurance that all skill levels are welcome to enjoy the best Napa Life.
According to the federal transportation department, since 2014, the Vine Trail has diverted 30,000 cars off Highway 29 annually, reducing 100 tons of greenhouse gas emissions in Napa Valley and achieving national recognition as a 1% For The Planet recipient.
